IMHO, its quite expensive given that its an older model even if you'll get it brand new.

I have the higher model SCPT570 which I got bundled with my PV80. The difference with 170 is the ipod dock, floorstanding front speakers and higher speaker wattage. Its better than most HTIB but I wont even shell out 7500K for the 870 nowadays.

Try looking in the Marketplace. There just might be a cheaper option to suit your needs.

Does the SCPT570 do upscaling via HDMI?  Where did you get it, and how much? I'm in the market for an upscaling HTIB, but don't want to pay the full SRP price.  Getting a Panny HTIB will allow me to use the Vieralink function with my 32C10.  I just don't know where to get one at a discounted price...

I got it bundled with my PV80 and it used to retail for 20K. Last time I checked, there is a newer model that retails at 25K. Yes, it can upscale and with optical input which is a plus since i don't need a separate receiver when I use my NMT.

If you dont want to pay for the SRP, your best bet is to find someone you know looking for an LCD TV, convince them to choose Panasonic and then pay the bundled price which normally ranges from 5K-10K depending on how good you can haggle. ;D

For those who have this HTIB, may I know what are your plans/have done in resolving the ff:

1. DVD Region Lock, how to change to All Region

2. Optical In doesn't decode DTS

Your solution to these issues are very much welcome.
