I'd get a BD player with analog out. They can decode your HD formats at a better value. Those new receivers are now overpriced thanks to those high licensing cost they have to pay for HD Dolby and DTS, among others. In addition, there are some features in the BD disc you won't get if the audio is sent in bit stream to an outboard decoder.
For video, connect your HDMI directly to your LCD or plasma TV. Many monitors sport multiply HDMI inputs. Receiver makers want you to upgrade. Most of their features are totally unecessary for you to enjoy high definition.
