« on: Apr 15, 2011 at 08:15 AM »
How do you remove scratches from a plasma TV Bezel? My house hold help accidently scratched my plasma bezel while doing here regular clean up.

I'm glad someone asked this question, this has always been my problem with piano black finishes on TV's. Can scratches and swirl marks really be avoidable?

"GLO metal" works on plastic. takot ako baka dadami ang scratches.
The TV is a pioneer plasma so it has a very glossy bezel.
So i don't screw up and make more scratches how should  much should i apply and what direction should i rub the glo and micro fiber?

I buy the most ludicrously priced widescreen TV wiping clothes ("Totally won't scratch your precious appliance!", "Lint-free!", "Static-free!") wherever I could find them, brush them oh-so-delicately on the screen and the bezel, and somehow they still manage to leave small scratches on the damn thing.

I guess it comes with the territory, then? :-\

medyo matalas ang glo, its like  slightly lower abrasiveness ng rubbing compound.

if you just want to get rid of light swirl marks, use car wax.

it wont really get rid of the swirl marks, just lessen them.

i have yet to use a motorized buffer. technically it should work when buffing at low speed.

think of it as a car.

(pang finisher kasi ang meguiars)so gumamit ako ng isang unknown wax, or turtle wax ata..... something like polisher. basta apply sparingly.. pakonti konti ang apply..

a good tip is to use the wax muna sa ibang bagay para malaman mo kung sobrang talas or hinde, usually ang finisher wax, kumbaga sa sandpaper, thousand grit na sya.  yung glo nasa around 100grit. ang polisher medyo mas matapang, then glo, then rubbing compound.

as for glass ng plasma, if its glass, then windex or any glass cleaners should be enough.. madaming home concocted diy solutions pang glass, same as ginagamit sa auto, like vinegar + water, or etc. pero to be sure glass cleaner nalang.

problem with meguiar is after polishing the acrylic plastic will look extra reflective. parang mirror finish. even shinier than the original factor shine. can you confirm waxx?

Windex and many harsh cleaners can take out the anti-glare coating. A damp cloth is enough for most cases.

I assume "AR-safe" solutions used for prescription glasses and camera lenses could also be used (aside from those supplied in plasma tv cleaning kits).

Novus has been used for car windshield repairs. More than 10 yrs na ata yun.  go to your suking car shop. not sure kung papayag sila magbenta ng tingi.

whoops, i meant was the wax giving the kuro an extra mirror like shine that it no longer looks like a factory stock model.

i cant confirm on the kuro, sir, coz i havent seen its bezel.

but re normal acrylics being waxed, yes, it would produce a mirror like shine.

you might need glo recommended by waxx.

Bumili ako ng sachet ng Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell and some micro fiber afterwards I polished my Tv's bezel and I have to say it works!
Removes small hair line scratches effectively.
Guys if you have small scratches I recommend it. Just test it muna sa hidden part ng TV before applying.

Yeah! I remember how I use to clean my 1st piano black flat panel. Very very carefully to a point that my hands were shaking with utmost care...and like you, to no avail.

Most come with the territory :)

Eto gamit ko sa Monitor at LCD tv ko. This works for smudges coming anything that my 3yr old has in his hands and decides to touch the screen.
