Panasonic AE8000 Power Cord
« on: Dec 17, 2012 at 11:08 AM »
We bought our AE8000 in the USA and at first we thought that it was 110v only. Upon closer inspection, we saw that the unit was actually multi volt (110v-220v). However, it says in the manual that the supplied power cord cannot be used if plugged via 220v since I guess the fuse installed with the cord is 110v compatible only.

In this regard, does anyone know where to buy the 220v power cord for the AE8000? I tried searching the net (amazon/ebay/google/etc) but i can't find the damn cord.

Can I just use any thick branded power cord?  The cord is the same one that you use for your computer. It is very common and I have tons of them lying around. I just don't want to try them out yet since the AE8000 is an expensive piece of equipment and I want to make sure first....

generic power cord should pose no problems.. but if you want to be sure, get those nice ones (high rating)...sold at marketplace.. thats for piece of mind..

but if it was mine, ill still use generic ones..

i used #14 AWG THHN wire as power cord of my pj and plasma. i would say this is better than the generics and at par or better than the branded ones, function-wise.

DIY ko lang para sakto ang sukat ng power cord and no messy cables sticking out behind the unit. wala naman kaya to difference sa SQ?  :)

so ok lang ba na i bypass ko yung fuse nya na 110v  and just use a normal generic cord that is thick? meron bang power cord with a fuse that is 220v?

Marami kasi akong thick cable that came from IBM Servers. I'm using those as power cables sa mga equipment ko. Di ko lang pinalitan yung sa Panny kasi mukang mataba naman.. Di ko lang agad naisip na iba nga pala ang cable pag 110 at 220..
