Repair shop for new Yamaha AVR?
« on: Jan 07, 2013 at 05:00 PM »
Gents;

Have a friend who bought one from the US (RXA-2020) but plugged it in 220 (without turning it on), now it won't power up.  Understood there won't be warranty coverage but thats OK.

Doesn't have to be the Yamaha service center but a shop who is good with repairing AVR's.  TIA.

Sir any update on your receiver. It actually happened to me just now. Was cleaning up and accidentally plugged the receiver sa 220 instead of the step down transformer. Heard a cracking sound. It's dead.

Thanks. Sana fuse nga lang to. I will bring this to someone who knows more about these stuff. I might be doing more harm than good. Nangigigil na nga ako buksan e. a couple of days wait might be the best.

I finally had mine fixed. Audioworld and other QC based help was out of the equation since nasa shop ang kotse. So I had to look for alternatives near Makati. After scouring the net I found this shop called Love Electronics in Buendia. They checked the unit out and found out that the fuse/s were intact and it was something in the psu that was the culprit. And 3500 pesos and 3 days later my receiver is up and running.

If coming from Pasay it's on the right side right after Wendy's, Pizza hut, KFC are dun sa may JAM bus terminal. or check out their website nalang if there are branches near you. http://www.love-electronics.com/1/ they have pretty good service IMO.
