Thanks john, I take it you mean ATMOS setup

it's a bit too late to factor in ATMOS but I will look at the sound technology available at the next AV receiver change. My Onkyo tx-nr5007 has been in storage for 18 months & just noticed that instruction manual says it may not work after not being used for a long time. Don't quite know what that means but I may be about to find out $:-\$

Not much progress over the last few days, trying to sort out my permanent residency visa - a bit of a nightmare. Thankfully I'll be able get working in the HT room tomorrow so things should start moving again.

This got me worrying. I also have a receiver in storage which I should have sold a long time ago $:-\$

It may be just the settings are lost so requires setting up again - I hope so. I'll know in about a week so watch this space.

Thanks toyfactor, yes I'll be using the 5007 for home theater with Cambridge Audio 840E & 840W driving the main fronts. Audio system will be CA 851E & bi-amped 851W's into Mordaunt Short Performance 6's

A little bit side tracked the last couple of days with fitting the electronic lock to the inner HT room door but have managed to fit 4 speakers & connecting tomorrow. Just before I left the UK I replaced a pair of floor standers I was using for outside F & L with another pair of IQ 30's to match the rest of the system. They had been discontinued but I managed to get a new pair of a different colour so the rears are black ash & the rest dark apple.

meron nyan sa sights and sound. btw iirc obr is british.

Thanks china-man, I brought the speaker brackets from the UK but I have seen very similar when searching the net so I think it is a standard design. I'll look for some information for you. There are 5 holes for screw fixing 3 in the base & 1 in each side clamp. I used 3 in the base for security.

Hi china-man, my speaker brackets are BTECH BT77 & cost the equivalent to about P2,150/pair. They will hold 25Kg, have 7 deg. tilt & 160 deg swivel. BTECH are international & have distributors in China, Hong Kong & Singapore - web site http://www.btechavmounts.com/

Progress interrupted today by a visit from VECO contractors accusing us of illegal power tapping, coming back tomorrow to cut the connection.We have an arrangement with our neighbours across the road & are tapped from the load side of their meter. We decided to reposition our feed cable to make it more obvious so while that was going on no lights in the HT room

. Managed to connect the front high speakers & put the main amp & AV receiver in the rack. I'm busy paying bills & getting my visa application submitted so not a lot will be done tomorrow, I will update if I manage to do anything.
