Topic: Local/Viva Pixar BDs

Hi,

Newbie BD collector here. I'm planning to buy Pixar BDs either from Amazon or PDVD marketplace. My friend is offering his locally-bought/Viva releases at reasonable prices. How do these Viva releases compare to what are being offered by Amazon and by members selling in the forum in ternms of PQ and AQ.

I think most locally-distributed blurays here in our country are single disc variants only and may therefore lacking in extra features but then I could be wrong. But this is my experience with the ones I did buy at Astro or that other music store which escapes me right now.

Ako, interested lang sa movie, hindi gaano sa special features. At par ba video and audio quality ng local releases kumpara sa us version? I think pareho lang kaso I also want confirmation/opinion sa mga matatagal ng bumibili.

Sa video it should be the same pero sa audio not sure kasi meron encoded either in DTS-HA MA or Dolby TrueHD versions. If this is not an issue with you (since pareho namang HD audio yung 2) then you should be ok.

P750-P999 yung naalala ko sa single disc pero pag double na 1k+ na.

As per the sale thread, someone said Viva is losing the Disney/Pixar license to Magnavision.  Thus, they discounted their BDs to 499 until January 17, 2014 yata.  DVDs for Php 75!

Viva Blurays are single discs (no DVD, no second-discs, no Digital copy).  And most of the time, 3D and 2D Bluray are separate buys. 

Get them at Astro that sell Disney Bluray before prices returns to normal...

I think picture quality and audio are the same. Maybe nga kulang ang special features if there is an extra bonus disc in the USA version. I really think this 499 sale is an awesome sale. I went around to so many astro and odyssey yesterday to hunt down some discs.

I got more yesterday and to me the best I got were: monsters university 2d and 3d, oz the great and powerful 2d and 3d, little mermaid series and planes. I also got most of the 3d titles from this sale which is of course awesome because 3d is so expensive hehehe..

the last time I checked astrovison festival they have this  499php disney bluray sale

however odyssey doesn't have this kind of sale

hey. saw casino royal for 499. Is the Philippine copy uncut like the uk version?
