Actually it is the Japanese Semiconductor industry that was the driving force
behind all these innovative products.....
at the time when american semicons were dishing out complementary output transistors
that had transition frequencies in the 4 MHZ range, the japs had devices in the 30 to 60 mhz range..
the japs clearly had the technical edge then...
so much so that Motorola which later became ON semi had to secure licences from Toshiba
to second source the 2SC3281/2SA1302 power transistors which they manufactured
with part numbers MJL1302/MJL3281.......
so it comes as no surprise to find japanese amps that are really classics......
