Going through the first season now. It was not a good idea to watch Watchmen before this though, parang ang babaw tuloy ng plot and forced and not as engaging as Watchmen's

Baligtad tayo. Though I liked the Watchmen series, I felt it was too serious/heavy, thus I found The Umbrella Academy more entertaining, having a much lighter, less serious storyline. This was so true with the 2nd Season. Medyo serious pa nga yung first season eh.

Just finished it.

I have to say I don't know why I didn't start this sooner. It is an utterly enjoyable, fun superhero series. Season 2 is definitely better than Season 1 though.

I suppose Number Five is a lot of people's favorite? While I do like him, I think Ben is very underrated.

Netflix has announced that they’ve officially renewed The Umbrella Academy for a third season after more than three months since the hit superhero series debuted its 10-episode second season in July. Production is expected to start next year in February.

Elliot Page Will Continue to Star in ‘Umbrella Academy,’ Netflix Changes Credits on His Past Films

Elliot Page will continue to play the role of Vanya Hargreeves in “The Umbrella Academy,” the Netflix series about a family of superheroes that’s become one of the streaming service’s biggest hits.

Vanya is a cisgender woman whose superpower involves unleashing force through the use of sound. There are no plans to change the character’s gender, insiders told Variety.

Page, star of films such as “Juno” and the X-Men series, announced he is a gender non-binary transgender person in a heartfelt social media message on Tuesday. Page’s credited name has already been updated on “The Umbrella Academy’s” IMDB page.

Netflix is also in the process of updating Page’s name in the metadata across all titles he is involved with that are available to watch on the streaming service, another insider said.

Personally, I am just somewhat on the fence with regards to the need to revise his name on all past films. Those were done under "Ellen Page", so perhaps no need to exert the extra effort to change every film credit to "Elliot Page"? For future projects, definitely yes, but for all past works....? I don't know....

The third season of The Umbrella Academy will debut in 2022.

It has also been confirmed that some episodes of the new season will take place at Hotel Oblivion, which was the title of Gerard Way’s third volume in The Umbrella Academy comics. Further details about Season 3’s plot are still being kept under wraps, but given that they’ll be featuring Hotel Oblivion, the episodes might potentially cover some of the material from the said comic book.

Elliot Page’s “The Umbrella Academy” character will come out as transgender in Season 3 of the Netflix series, the actor said Tuesday.
