Hi guys,

Where can I get quality DVI-D cables around town? Branded or custom-made is okay basta wallet friendly.

I don't think you can get one customized locally... if one is available would be quite expensive. I got one before from a VirraMall stall for php 2,500 to connect my momitsu dvd player to a samsung dlp via DVI cable.

If you need an extra longer cable, your best bet would be to order one from the US, I think.

Thanks for the info., looks like I'll have to get it from the US. Actually, I got a 2M DVI cable with me, however I need a longer run something like 7.5-8M (yikes!). I understand these things degrade in longer (10+)M runs, and must be of good quality.

A nearer alternative would be Hong Kong's Sham Shui Po area. I saw a lot of DVI cables there, I forgot the price though. But they have DVI cables of up to 10m length.

& I think the lenght is around 1.5 meters each.
Brandnew... sealed on its orig plastic.

What am I to conclude from the posts above? That there are no DVI cables beng sold locally? Dont' those AV shops carrrying gears with DVI and HDMI terminals carry these cables? Are they that st***d?

I saw Monster Cable selling a DVI cable in an Appliance store in SM north a few months ago, maybe Anson's.

Sights & Sounds has 1 meter DVI or HDMI cables. I also saw IXOS DVI cables in AV/ stores.

Audioworld also has some branded HDMI cables, but medyo mahal lang (branded kasi).

has anyone tried hdmi/dvi connections here? and compared it with component video cable connections? ask sana kami comments sa picture quality, difference ba e night and day....or indiscernible na? especially if factored in ang viewing distance... etc? curious lang ho..

In my case its night and day. I have both connection and I just choose what ever I like but the HDMI is alot better. The component connection looks pale.

ive already got a hdmi/dvi cable though mahaba sya....5meters....and will be using denon 2910 and panasonic ae900...just waiting for the renovation to finish.....i'll update you guys.
