assuming that samsung has coaxial or digital input, buy a china made dvd player that has digital output and make samsung the a/v receiver. at least you could play pirated dvds sa mga china made player lol  :D

but send it back if it's still under warranty.

Maganda ang tunog nito lalo na kung may partner na WDTV at may DTS wav file ka,  super crisp and tunog.

Hi all,

My Z210 is region locked again. I tried the procedures posted at the beginning of this thread before. And it worked. But now when I try it again, it won't work. my Z210 is locked to region 1, I can't play any of my region 3 discs. Anybody?

I think that this isn't an unlock code. Its just to reset the dvd counter. It'll give you another couple of tries, but on the last try, whatever region dvd you play, it'll lock to that region. The unlock might not work again.

i need help guys...

how do i fix that "Protect" error on my samsung ht-z210? whenever i turn it on, it will read the dvd i inserted but then it will show that "Protect" error message and it automatically turns off..i did a google search and they said that the only solution is to take the player to the service center but i was wondering how much it would cost me to have it repaired since my htib is already out of warranty.

i will appreciate your replies.

@marzi,

my z210 also shows protect error when i try to turn it on. prior, the unit encountered electrical spark when it is in standby mode. i try to open the unit and there is a burned resistor inside. i haven't send it to service center yet...

here's the pic of burned resistor

Sakit na yata ito nang last series of SAMSUNG HTIB's (Q & Z-series) .... better have it fixed by the service center - if still in warranty.

Otherwise, assess the cost of SAMSUNG versus other service center. If the resistor is all that's needed, then any good repair shop can do this.

My last HTIB also got this protect error ..... I was told by SAMSUNG people (to be fair, their customer service was very accomodating & regularly called me about my unit) that a certain component needs to be imported in able to fix.

Luckily, my unit was just replaced with a brand new one after a month of waiting.

is this htib still available or phased-out na? maganda ba talaga ang tunog nito, or even comparable, kesa sa mga pc speakers like altec lansing's? wa me care sa dvd player nya at di na uso samin yang dvd player ;D ;D at meron na kaming wd player. sounds lang talaga with this budget. ;)

^ Have heard that this series have been discontinued.

Sound quality would be okay, given it's price ..... though the subwoofer is a bit weak.

Let's not talk about the upscaling feature of this HTIB - very poor upscaling (picture) quality .... just use it for the sounds.

This would be a good starter HTIB for a mid-sized room ..... lalo na may OPTICAL input siya.

i saw the insides already..yun nga lang, i didnt look close enough to check for burned resistors or other components..tsambahan nga minsan para mapagana ko to..i tried disconnecting the speakers one by one, minsan gumagana, ngayon eto ayaw ulit..might send this to a nearby repair shop to have this looked at, sana di ako mapagastos ng malaki..like i said, this unit is already out of warranty..

i totally agree, the upscaling of this thing is really sucky..kesyo pirated, downloaded o original dvds pa itry ko at kahit i-upscale ko to 1080p, it makes no difference..

Phased out na itong model.  I have an HT-Z220 which I purchased last December.  Ganda naman ng sounds, pero parang mas maganda pa yun sound nun lumang Altec Lansing ko na 2.1 lang hehehe.  But then again, I'm not an audiophile.  I purchased this because HT-Z220 is the most inexpensive HTIB with optical in that I can find.  I live in a condo so I really don't need that much power.
