Topic: Do i need to have equal length of speaker wire for 7.1 system?

hi! one of my friend told me na kailngan ko gawin equal length of speaker wire from front left, right,center, surround left, right, and surround rear left, right? is this true? or pwede same length lang with center, left right..then same length with surround left, right and same length with surround rear left, right? thanks! hope someone could help me

need = no, because you won't be able to tell the difference in terms of sound output..
recommeded by some = yes, so you can sleep better 

I don't use equal length all throughout, but try to keep the same length for each pair.  ie.  same length for front speakers.

KEEP THE SPEAKER WIRES, EVEN THE ICs AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE.
DO THEY HAVE TO BE IN EQUAL LENGHTS? NO!

same here .....in my case, i made sure that the speaker wires i used for my Left, Center & Right (LCR fronts) are of the same length & gauge (thicker), while for my rears & s. backs i used a bit shorter & thinner wires but still of the same length & gauge for these 4 speakers

ok lang na di equal yung lengths ng wires...

...basta wag lang aabot nang ilang kilometers ang difference, your ear won't be able to tell it...

not mandatory.... but if possible make the L/R equal length and gauge,center can short or long or smaller in size, wag lang gabuhok at kilometro ang difference... . surround should long dahil if same length w/ front, how it can be put in the right place....

  the above is preferred/recommended.

  pares pares or matched per pair as you mentioned is okay.

front left and right same length 

surround left and right same length 

back surround right and left same lenght
