okay, never got to answer the question earlier, but here's how you do it:
- go to My Computer
- Right-Click on the drive
- Click on Sharing and Security (depending on the version, might just be Sharing; Vista is a bit more difficult to configure)
- Click on the 'Share this Folder on the Network'
- Click 'Apply' and 'OK'
of course, this is a bit more involved, but that's the gist.
on your pch, you can go to network sharing and browse to that pc you just set up the share on, and you should be able to add your cd drive share. then go back to sources and browse until you find the Video_TS folder. Pressing ENTER on your remote would start the DVD.
i've tried this with pirated region 0 dvds. its rather hit and miss, mind you: some region 0 dvds do not work (live 8 for example, its original) but it worked with sting's all this time (region 0 but also original). your mileage might vary.
i still prefer using anydvd to rip the dvds (and unencrypt), that way, its all in your hdd and you won't have these issues to annoy you.
Congrats sir!
Can the PCH play an mkv file in dvd being played in an optical drive in another pc?
Pano ang connection? Thanks!
