Topic: How to convert DVD with subs to Divx

mga sirs, how do i convert some asian dvd to Divx na kasama yun english subs...im using Tempgenc Authoring Works 4 and during the process i do check yun english subs checkbox para kasama sa conversion..but when i play it sa WD Media player ko, walang Subs na lumalabas...pls help...

You can try autogk. It's a freeware program. I used it before to encode my dvds to divx but with the availability of relatively cheap terabyte hdds I just didn't bother anymore. Now I just copy the dvd into an iso image.

My advice is to simply look for the matching subtitles in srt format and download it.  Then synchronize using Subtitle Workshop: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Other-VIDEO-Tools/Subtitle-Workshop.shtml

If you can't find the subtitles on the internet, you have to make your own srt file from the DVD source.  Use Subrip: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/subrip.htm

i use subrip para pwede ko i-on or off ang subtitles .... lalo sa mga stephen chow movies lol

I use and highly recommend to everyone else yung Handbrake conversion program ... its quite easy to use. lalo if you have a good background na sa conversion .... pwede din ito mag "hard-Burn" ng subtitle sa movie file so you don't need separate files for it .... it is MKV capable also

madami pa akong icoconvert kaso tinamad nako ..... few months ago I was aggressively converting all my pirated dvds to AVI format, then selling the successfully converted disc for ultra cheap

yup..thats precisely what i have in mind sir...i like to convert itong mga asian dvd with the subs hard burned para 1 file na lang....i tried yun kay sir barrister na Subrip pero medyo kulang pa ata ako sa practice...this time ill try my hands with Handbrake baka mas succesful ako dito...anyways, to all of you guys, thanks for the help..

I've tried hard subs, but there are 2 disadvantages:

1.  Conversion with hard subs is too slow;
2.  Hard subs are blurred; not as sharp as player-generated subs.
