got in touch with philips, seems it's not yet out in the market. Hope it'll be worthwhile though! =)

mga bossing, meron akong DVP-6620.. bought it at the same time with panny 32lx80(3weeks ago).. wala naman akong problema sa hdmi connection... upscale lng niya hanggang 1080i.. ok lang ksi yung 32lx80 hanggang 1080i lng din.. nakikita ko lng problema ay walang dts encoder, dolby lng.. tapos ang ouputs niya ay isang hdmi, isang composite a/v, isang component video (yung audio, kukunin mo as composite)... yung pq, ok para sa akin, pero dhil siguro na rin sa panny.. ganda lng talaga ng porma.. wlang problema sa mga p***** dvds, burned dvd-r/w (back up avi files)... siguro masasabi ko lng, kung gusto mong set-up ay simple lng (as in dvd stand alone at flat panel tv, pero mga 32in lng), ok itong player na ito..

fyi, kapag naset sa auto yung hdmi output(connected to panny).. ang upscale lng niya ay 720p.. siguro ito yung detection niya as best output for panny... pero tingin ko wlang difference sa 720p at 1080i, around 5ft viewing distance...

i own this player and it seems to work okay.... it reads all my discs including p$%#ted discs.

problem ko lang sa kanya is walang optical output it works through digital coaxial but so far i can recomment this player aesthetically it looks great and it can be wall mounted

forgot to mention the region unlocking instructions and it is working:

On you remote, Press "Setup"

Scroll to "Preference" using the Left/Right arrow key

Press "138931" and a popup screen will appear

Use the Up arrow key and select 0 for a region free DVD player

got this info from videohelp.

Looks very classy and slick, but I guess the downside of it is that it has no DTS decoding features. :(
