Swerte talaga mga nakakuha nito. Sobrang mura for an HD audio capable receiver.

Buti nalang di ako ganyan every year, tumagal ng halos 5 years sa akin yung RX-V430 ko bago ako nag RX-V663. ;D

Sa akin 4years lang umabot yung RX-V450 ko bago ko pinalitan.

HEALED?!!! I doubt it... probably for this year. hahaha  :D Next year ulet!  ;D

hehe healed for year 2008 on receivers!... medyo matagal na ulit ang susunod na receiver upgrade ko!...  di pa nga tapos ang 2008 hunting for PS3 or blu-ray player na ko!... hay nako never ending gastos!

Back to 663 baka ma-OT... ibang-iba sound quality ng my old 659 compared to my new 663! mas detailed, Sub output/crossover is perfect! nahulog cover ng pinlight ko sa sound (deep bass) ng sub na 1st time ko narinig sa DTX 4.15! kaya pala nya?  . Ewan ko lang baka ilusyon ko lang yun! hehehe hooked it with my BADA 5ch power amp gumanda sq, lumakas  power output nya ng 15db, tested it w/out ext amp -5db/-8dv preferred volume, w/ ext amp -20db/-25db medyo pahinga ang amp ng receiver ko. Kainis lang eh walang separate speaker connection for Speaker B! pinag sama na nila sa 663 yung presence/Zone2 and speaker B!!!  ;D problema ko may presence speaker ako b4 (yamaha speaker) and speaker B (B&W 601) for Audio listening (para no nid na buksan ang ext amp). Set my Extra spkr to presence (di pwede gamitin as speaker B maliit bka mawasakl!) nka display na lang yung 601!  ??? ??? ???

Out of curiosity, has anybody tried the YPAO calibration already? I only tried calibrating using the RadioShack SPL Meter, but will also try YPAO when I properly get the system up and running again. Just wondering how you find the YPAO results to your liking, and are the settings tweakable or no?

yup i tried it, speaker balance was not that accurate, equalization was good,  much better than my old 659, Speaker size and distance was accurate, sub crossover was set to 160hz!!!  ???... in the end, i end up using my spl meter too ;D ;D ;D, manually balanced my speaker volume level, manually calibrate equalizer (663 has 7 band equalizer for each speaker F/C/L/SL/SR/SBL/SBR... ang galing!)...  after tweaking, my HT sounds AWESOME!!!! ... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!  ;D ;D ;D

manually calibrate equalizer (663 has 7 band equalizer for each speaker F/C/L/SL/SR/SBL/SBR... ang galing!)...  after tweaking, my HT sounds AWESOME!!!!

How do you properly calibrate each channel's equalizer? Speaker levels lang alam ko i-calibrate. :)

guys question I'm using my AMP to play XBOX 360 and PS3 games bakit DOLBY DIGITAL lag lumalabas sa screen? so far I havn't seen DOLBY TRUE HD, DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS and DTS HD.  Is there an option on how I can enable them.

Ano settings gamit niyo? is it SURROUND DECODER?

What type of connection are you using to connect your consoles? HD audio (dolby trueHD or dtsHD) can only be passed-thru using HDMI.

How about in movies? Have no idea about the setting on the PS3. But you should have your PS3 bitstream the audio to your amp so the amp will do the decoding.

It should show up as Multi-Channel PCM, MPCM or something like that on your receiver if setup correctly because the PS3 internally decodes lossless audio such as DD TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, etc.

DD TrueHD, DTS-HD MA will not show up when you use a PS3.

I think you have the option to set the sound to either PCM or bitstream on the PS3? It has to be PCM. Bitstream will only give you Dolby Digital because the PS3 cannot pass HD audio format via HDMI.

EDIT: Na-mention mo pala PS3 games, I thought you were mentioning BD movies. Not sure about the games if they have lossless audio.

How about in movies? Have no idea about the setting on the PS3. But you should have your PS3 bitstream the audio to your amp so the amp will do the decoding.

DD TrueHD, DTS-HD MA will only show up if you have a BD player which is capable of bitstreaming HD audio codecs via HDMI. The PS3 does not pass HD audio formats via HDMI.

Kindly see this thread and also maybe PM richochet315.

Mine too! i don't expect my DTX 4.15 will sound that good! "feel-na-feel" ko rumbling sound ng sub ko! Talagang alog HT room ko! Ngayon ko lang na experience yun sa sub ko after almost 2yrs of using it!.

How do you properly calibrate each channel's equalizer? Speaker levels lang alam ko i-calibrate. :)

go to manual setting/set menu/equalizer... choose GEQ then press Enter, press arrow down to manually adjust the 7 band equa, to select next channel, press right arrow keys on "channel" option... After tweaking the equa balance mo ulit speaker level using SPL meter.... Note lang po, never adjust the lower frequency (bass) of you SL/SR/SBL/SBR! let it be in FLAT position bka mawasak yan! But you can adjust higher frequencies to your preference... eto maganda nyan, after manually tweaking my equa, tested it on DTS DEMO DISC 9, "Hero" of Jet Li... pati yung steps nya habang naglalakad sa platform eh naririnig ko! may sound pala steps nya? Huwaw!!!   ;D ;D...  before sa old avr ko eh halos wala akong marinig na steps!   ???

So far this baby has handled my PS3, XBOX360, Oppo DVD Player and eGreat NMT without problems on my 52" LCD... it is powering up Mission speakers and a Velodyne sub... in fact, I am using both A+B front speakers without problems too...

I had to use a 3-in-1 HDMI auto-switch to hook all of the devices via HDMI.

Tingin ko somewhat same model line-up sa center/front speakers mo since it's going to augment the dialogue and front effects. Might sound funny if iba yung pagka-timbre match nila.

Maybe Toslink can confirm. :)

Anson, here's my set-up now with the RX-V663 (coming from my ever reliable RX-V750) through your kindness... good thing you help influence me to go 663 instead of the 863 that I was really aiming for... this model is the best price for the features between the two.

I've posted my set-up's latest pics, please click here - http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=45784.msg941387#msg941387

The RX-V863 is really not worth the additional money given the minor differences.

I have my 663 setup in bluray HD.  Its driving my VR1s without any difficulty. I also use a REL Stampede subwoofer. What I find amusing and so convenient is the YPAO.  It really optimizes the sound field in my room.  Perfect setup.  I have it in 6.1 configuration.

Im very satisfied and hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Meron ako Yamaha speakers pero satellites lang sila eh. Haven't tried it but I'm sure it'll sound fine.

Sa HK naka-partner yung Yamaha satellites while sa 663 naka-partner yung Infinity Primus.
