Help! Need you advice!!! HTIB or Separates?!?
« on: Nov 01, 2004 at 09:46 PM »
Hey guys!!!

I need your best advice! Will I go for an HTIB or for the separates?!? Can you suggest any ideas? Il be working on optimum budget as much as possible. These are some of my limitations: i want floorstanders at least in the front (well, if they come with the stands then i guess it would be alright), then i want it to look a lil stylish as much as it can be.

Hope you guys have ideas in mind! Pls post na rin ung mga prices!

It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jonmike

note: all brands are welcome but i hope it has warranties plus the dvd player, as much as i want, does play all-regions incl "you know what blink, blink!"

Well...If your really want the best in HT you really have to extend your budget.. you can go as high as 80-100t or as low as 10-15t...so many things to consider here.

Have you tried reading this thread?
http://www.pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=23249.0

It will also depend on what set-up will you be assembling...are you using this set-up for audio too? How many % of it will go to HT, how many % will go to Audio or are you going to have a separate Audio set-up?

here's an example of separates (taken from Master Kimpao's post on other threads with some modifications  ;D)
-----
Budget level
HK/Wharfs - Budget setup for 50/50 HT and Audio (Approx. cost 60-70t considering hk330 and Wharf 9 series)
Yamaha/Wharfs - Mas budget setup kaso 70/30 HT and Audio (Approx. cost 50-60t considering RX-V650 and
                            Wharfe 9 series)

Medyo napamahal lang ng konti pero mga all rounder naman
HK/B&W
HK/MA
HK/AE
HK/MIssion
-----
Yung sa DVD player, you can choose either a branded one or a generic one...here's a tip...almost all generic DVD players are multi-region... ;D branded ones costs around 7-10t, generic ones are 2-4t..it's up to you..  ;)

Also, speaker cables and interconnects are not yet included  ;D

The best option I can share with you is, audition them first....then decide

waaa...ang haba na pala.....cge sa susunod ulit.. hope I have helped you in anyway... 8)

I would always advise to get separates if you are going into HT. New products are available that would match the price of the HTIB but will perform a lot better. If your budget wont fit, you can always buy it one at a time until you complete your system. It is still better than getting a HTIB then regret in the future. You might not regret now but give it 3 months and you are thinking of upgrading. I would rather wait to complete my system than get stuck with a system I cant upgrade. Im not saying HTIB is not good, but given the situation you can wait or save up for something then separates would be a better option. Another thing is that all your requirements ( floorstander and lil stylish ) would require separates. I think you need to be more specific so members can advise better.

Budget ?
Size of Room ?
HT/Audio ?
Upgrade Plans?
etc
