:D yes Marvs just wait for the real deal . . . QuadHD, 3D capable or LED based PJ. Who knows maybe next year those are already available for the mainstream market.

I think 720p owners are the ones who will benefit fr. the new features of ae4000.

Given the HD20 was P65,000 I'd opt for the ae3000... kaso I dont know anyone coming home this christmas by Friday. :( The P132k is a price that says... I do not want to sell.

Wow! This beauty achieves 5-star! Review: http://www.projectorcentral.com/panasonic_ae4000_projector_review.htm

There's a Pdvd member, TOY 01 who accepts special orders from USA. Many members have tried him & give good recommendation. Hope he will also accept other online seller ($1,999) other than Amazon which is more expensive ($2,259.99).

At $1,999 it's about P93,000. But probbaly after shipping will cost around P103,000. Ooh I'm drooling... :-*

sir paul. you may want to look at the sanyo plv-z700 (1080p) too. it was rated high by projector central too. not as fancy as the panasonic. but in japan, sanyo pjs are selling better than panasonics. and projector people quoted me a price of $1,199 x 50 = 60,000. landed by toy01 can be from 63,000 to 67,000.

and toy01 can get from other sites. just pm him the link of the product before he gives you the quote. my 806 onkyo was bought not from amazon but from another site that offered it lower than amazon.  :)

but if money is no object, the ae-4000 is tops!  ;)

Since 1080p is going mainstream, look for prices of future PJ models to drop even further (Panny AE5000 at $1500?????).   Which bodes well on my end coz Im going to pass on this year's model.  ;D ;D

The Intelligent Lens Memory seems like a great feature. Thought not as good as when getting a separate anamorphic lens but at least this feature will result in BIG saving & satisfy one's need in removing those "black bars". With the amount saved, one can buy an extra projector screen, i.e. one screen for 1.78 & the other screen for 2.38. :)

"Lens memory was introduced by Panasonic on the AE3000. This feature enables you to set up the projector with a 2.40 widescreen, and zoom the lens to full frame 2.40 format when viewing a movie in 2.40 aspect ratio or higher. Then when native 16:9 material is being displayed, a push of the button moves the zoom lens to where the 16:9 image is centered full frame in the middle of the 2.40 screen.

The objective is to let you enjoy super-widescreen format without the cost of an anamorphic lens. The AE4000 retains this feature and takes it one step further-now you don't have to press the button to change lens positions. The projector will automatically detect the format of the image being displayed, and the lens will reconfigure itself to accommodate it. This feature is optional. If you prefer to be proactive and select the lens position yourself, you can deactivate the auto-detect feature. "
