Has anyone tried this set up? Are DVDs recognized as DVDs... meaning with DVD menu like a normal player... or recognized as data files showing the VOB files? Will the NMT upscale the DVD?

yup..you can try the Popcorn Hour C-200 as it can upscale your video the chipset used in C-200 is also used in branded Blu-ray players
