Thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) is a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin-film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality (e.g., addressability, contrast). TFT LCD is one type of active matrix LCD, though all LCD-screens are based on TFT active matrix addressing. TFT LCDs are used in television sets, computer monitors, mobile phones, handheld video game systems, personal digital assistants, navigation systems, projectors, etc.[1]

I have observed different types of panels since 2009. I believe IPS is a better choice. I own an LG LD series in 32" and a Samsung LA-40C650. LG's panel is not reflective as compared to my Samsung but my Samsung delivers better PQ when it comes to HD-dvd movies. LG is better when it comes to Cable TV viewing.

I don't own a Panasonic but I noticed that their V-series panel is not as reflective compared to their previous models. I really like the PQ of Panasonic's V-series. The color is more natural and has more detail. It's the best Panasonic model so far that I appreciated. Will get one of these before year ends.
