i purchased la32d50 last sun. all over satisfied on this lcd. thanks to Sns, kay john na nag assist sa min, ask ko lng po kung panu ausin ung PIP. di ko po kasi sya mgamit. pano po makaknood ng two screen na isa sa cable and ung isa is for videos.

pa share namn po ng mga settings nyo paps. TIA.

not so sure if different ung built in player sa 32 but i doubt it . i had to say and confirmed that this unit
IT PLAYS 1080P MKV FILE sizes 8-15gb
it also plays .M2TS file all of my TOY STORY movies were played

the only extension it did not play was AVCHD ISO file which konting lang naman ung mga gantong file...
il try other file extension tomorrow....

ill check the FW version as well

baka ibenta ko ung measy x6 ko nito pagnagkataon wala pang 1 month hehehe

I got this great panel for about 2 weeks now...

It's really good... nice picture quality...

I bought it kasi it plays a lot of video files... from AVI to MKV... which is really convenient for me... all I need to do is plug my external HDD and voila!!!

the thing na napansin ko is it plays 1080p files (kahit na 10gb) but not those encoded with AVC [email protected]... it will only play files lower than AVC [email protected] like AVC [email protected]... I have tried atleast 3 mkv files with AVC [email protected] and all have not played... error message agad...

hopefully magkaroon nga ng firmware update for this issue...

all in all am really satisfied...

nagupgrade kaba ng fw? 40d550 meron ako nkita sa site nila sept 2011 fw...hehehe..

so far sa good din ung saken... babadin ko na panood nito mga 10-12 hours this sunday hehehe

I forgot to mention nga pala na updated na rin yung firmware ko to the latest one (Sept 011)... nung una akong naka receive ng error message while playing 1080p mkv file, immediately ako nag update from stock firmware to the new one (1020.0 - Sept 02, 2011) pero wala pa rin nangyari... error pa rin video codec not supported...

what I did nalang to play all these files with AVC [email protected], is inedit ko na lang yung level using H264 Level Editor... bale from 5.0 to 4.1... mabilis naman yung editing so ok lang... walang na edit in terms of video or audio quality... just the level (mga 10 seconds lang duration ng editing)...

hope this will help others...

hindi ko pa inupdate ung FW ko e...di kasi nakaindicate kung anu ung enhancement ng FW upgrade .....

i emailed them and they advised that the updates are for the built in media player... added codecs stuff like that...
im tempting to sell my recently purchased measy x6 e...tsk tsk tsk

got the 40D550 last oct 31st and am loving it! higit na mas maganda kesa sa LED crap na 40D5000.

picture quality is to my liking.di masakit sa mata at ang ganda ng blacks!mas maganda din ang tunog ng built in speakers nya. nung una akala ko bukas na yung hometheater ko kasi parang naka surround na yung sounds.yun pala yung built in speakers lang nya

ito talaga ang first choice ko na kukunin instead dun sa walang kwentang LED model. im glad nakuha ko pa din. blessing in the skies

na din ang nangyari!

only thing i dont like is degraded ang sound pag ginamit mo yung optical out ng TV to receiver. bawas ang lakas ng sound nya unlike pag yung NMT ang direct na naka connect sa receiver but other than that. im happy overall.

ganda ng PQ...
sulit talaga ito... mag LED din sana ako kaso nung nakita ko side by side na impress ako sa LCD quality... kaya I ended up with this one... 32" nga lang po...

after buying this lcd tv last april this is only the first time i checked this thread again. I never knew that there was a FW update already hehe.. Can someone teach me how to upgrade the firmware? and is it also applicable to the 32 inch version?

not sure kung comaptible
download mo ung FW sa samsung ph website
ilagay mo sa USB
may option sa TV to upgrade fw hahanpin na sa USB charan.. hehehe..
just make sure your power will not be off

yes, there is a new FW for the 32 inch version... I am using one and I have updated it... just visit the Samsung site and locate our LCD TV model then download the available FW for it...1020.0 (Sept 2011 release)... extract it to a USB drive... then plug it to your TV... mga few mins lang naman yung update basta hope na walang power interruption while doing it...

question on firmware update on LA40d550, I downloaded the file from samsung website and when I try updating my firmware using a usb, the message on my TV is, No update found. I also tried updating directly from the internet but same message appeared.

btw the current firmware is 1019.

Hi guys,

Newbie here, I've been reading several threads here for the past 2 days which are mostly related to LA40D550 and UA40D5000. And after long dilemma I decided to go for LA40D550, I just got it 3 hours ago from SNS.
Bought it as a early christmas gift for my Dad, he said malabo na daw mata nya and he needs a 40" TV, lol I know lame excuse

ANW i would just like to ask, I saw from previous post that yung panel na nabili nila is SQ01 when i checked mine it has SQ02, I was just wondering if may difference ba yun? mejo first time ko kasi bumili ng HD-TV kaya I'm really clueless about stuff. Also can anyone share a good setting for this unit. Thanks in advance

The file that I have downloaded was not a zip or rar file. it's a .exe file.
