I had a family friend Tito who had cancer, ganun na ganun yung mukha months before he passed away.  Bless his soul.

I was still in school so I did not know about his sickness, but I asked my Dad bakit ang itim ng mukha nya.

My dad just kept quiet. :(

Diba pag chemo nakakalbo?

Nakalbo ba tito mo?

No, he still had his full set of hair.  There are many types of chemo drugs, each with different side effects.

He looked normal except blackened face and medyo pumayat ng konti.

They are asking ABS CBN to comment on Calida's petition in 5 days non-extendable.

Why?  Because Grace Poe's hearing on ABS CBN's franchise is set on February 27.  So if the gag order is given by the SC, wala nang saysay yun Senate hearing 9 days from now.  Because ABS CBN executives can't testify anymore.

Sneaky sneaky si Calida and the Supreme Court.  Very coordinated ang collusion.   ;D

I want to see they close down ABS-CBN para magka alaman na talaga. But it left the academe and a lot of ripples in the justice system. Papano na yung mga kaso in the future dahil sa kagaguhan nila. lalaya lang mga nasasakdal.

Oh kita mo na!  So target talaga yun scheduled hearing. ;D

Palace: OSG ‘right’ about seeking gag order on quo warranto case vs ABS-CBN
Quote
“Members of Congress, if they are doing their duty, I don’t think they can be stopped from asking questions relative to the matter. Perhaps, the resource persons can be covered but not members of Congress,” said Panelo, who is also President Rodrigo Duterte’s chief legal counsel.

“‘Pag gag order, everybody is covered except for those that I mentioned earlier, members of Congress, ‘pag meron silang Senate investigation,” Panelo explained.

When asked to clarify whether celebrities will not be allowed to air their opinion on the matter, Panelo said: “They can always speak themselves subject to the contempt power of the Supreme Court.”

Pati artista kasama sa gag order.  Nanakot pa ng contempt.  :o

The gag order can't prevent ABS executives from testifying as the Senate and SC are co-equal branches of gov't. The gag order, afaik, only covers media interviews. It might actually not cover online posts and statements either (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong).

Also, note that the Poe estate regularly receives royalties for Ang Probinsyano. I'm certain conflict of interest concerns will come up as the Senate hearing convenes.

I'm not familiar with the details of the sub judice rule.  But GMA showed a copy of Calida's petition and mentions specifically ABS CBN Executives, those connected with the company and those who represent the company.

What I mean is while the ABS CBN executives may attend the hearing, if approved by the SC... these same executives might not be able to answer the senators' questions due to the sub judice rule if it involves the case that has already been filed with the Supreme Court.

From Ping Lacson...

Quote
In a radio interview, Lacson said the rule only covered litigants, lawyers, officers of the court and the general public.

"[H]indi kami pwede i-censure ng SC kasi co-equal branch... Hindi rin kami pwede pagsabihan o i-contempt dahil nagsagawa kami ng investigation sabihin natin in aid of legislation," Lacson said.

However, the senator did concede that resource persons could be held in contempt.

Because of this, he has asked Senate President Vicente Sotto III to review matters before holding a hearing.

"Ang resource persons ang saklaw ng sub judice rule kaya humihiling ako kay SP pagusapan muna natin ito bago tayo magpadalos-dalos agad-agad tatawag tayo ng hearing," he said.

So apparently Grace Poe has moved the Senate hearing to February 24.... Ahead of the SC en banc decision on Calida's petition for a gag order.     ;D

Hahaha! Ayaw niya gumalaw.  Pero galit siya at inuunahan siya.   ;D

Madali yan, may dual citizenship naman. Allowed ng batas yan

What’s funny, itong mga solons na ‘to mga dual citizenships din ang status pero putak ng putak. Maniwala ka man sa hindi kahit yang si Cayetano eh may US passport dahil puti ang nanay. Nirenounce lang nya nung tumakbong pulitiko.

Kahit naman yang sina Duterte eh, german ang asawa nya o nanay nina polong baste at inday.

Kaka start pa lang ng Senate hearing, Tolentino right away questions the hearing in general in light of Calida's filing of the quo warranto case.

As far as I know, it was under his helm (Carlo Katigbak) when they pushed the network’s digital age i.e. TV Plus, smartphone access and pay per view gimmicks.

Yup.  He started in SkyCable, in case anyone is wondering.  He was able to expand and build a de facto monopoly, even against tough competition from provincial providers and the Destiny+Home Cable alliance.
