Kill Bill: Vol. 2
From DVDfile:

"Quentin Tarantino's bloody, bravura ode to Asian chop socky films concludes in Kill Bill Vol. 2, which will make its DVD debut on August 10th. Although Tarantino is planning a mega-set of both films for release sometime in the future, for now Buena Vista Home Entertainment will give the flick a fairly slim edition, complete with anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 tracks, "The Making of Kill Bill Vol. 2" featurette, premiere party footage, deleted scenes and trailers. Retail will list for $29.95."

Lots of speculation about upcoming versions. One thing we know is that there will be a boxed set. Whether it will contain both theatrical versions and the uncut versions of the two volumes is unknown as of today.

To add. Do pay attention to this quote from ign: "A Miramax executive has gloated over how many double dips they think they can get away with on this film. So stay tuned."

Yep... there'll be different versions of the film coming out sa dvd. ang alam ko, there'll atleast be the box set (with new features), and there'll be a Japanese/ Hong Kong version coming out rin. (extre scenes, no more black and white for the crazy 88s fight).

the reason they had to make it into black and white is para ma aprove sa ratings board yung scene na yun.

The version shown in Japan is longer and different in some frames, and the black-and-white battle scene with the Crazy 88 is in color. Those are just the two differences that I know of; there must be more.

There's also talk of QT re-cutting both films for a future DVD to provide more "balance," whatever that means.

Yup. Same here. The question, though, is: which boxed set?

I don't trust that they will come out with just one, considering that QT will present the entire movie in one cut later this year. I'll wait till the dust settles.

Just got my R1 copy yesterday and was able to watch it last night. Hey guys you might want to check this out. Remember the scene wherein Beatrix Kiddo plucked out Elle's left eyeball during the last stage of their dirty fight? There is this one particular scene after that plucking. After seeing that, I was kind of "shocked" and said "Hey! I haven't seen that in the theatrical version!". I did watch it at the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell and I also asked my friends what they do remember with that scene and they said they also did not see it. THE BRIDE HAD DONE SOMETHING WITH THAT LEFT EYEBALL!!! YAIKS!!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but this DVD R1 version doesn't say that this is a director's cut or that particular scene was included in the Deleted Scenes. It's just there. I wonder why it was not included in the theatrical version here in the Philippines since it was Rated R anyway... Was that intentionally cut?

Thanks msgt16 for your PM, I can see why you cannot post it here. But like I said, why mtrcb (if ever) had cut those scene? Anyway, at least it still gave me the "shock". I can't wait for a single release of the movie in the future, maybe titled: Kill Bill Unrated Director's Cut, just like Quent's Pulp Fiction release...

whats the running time of the R1 release?

extended/uncensored din ba ang R2-Japan version of this one?

thanks
