Skyworth Owner's Thread

was looking for a bang-for-the-buck TV since my 55-in Toshiba conked out. repairable pa naman kasi LED backlight daw problem but basic full HD LED lang kasi yun kaya naisip ko na palitan na din.

Don't expect a single Android TV software upgrade. My 55G6 never had a single software upgrade.

Pero my 55G6 still rocks. The built in soundbar is so good, I rarely use my 7.1 HT in the sala. Puro bedroom viewing na lang ako.

The BT remote right button started to be finicky. I was able to get an original BT remote in Shopee, without the Skyworth badge.

My 55G6 runs latest Kodi without issues. I think you'll be ok.

I bought a 50 inch last July in Ansons. It didn't have Android to get it for a lower price, was considering the 55 but it only had the display stock for sale. surely the software is mediocre Netlix quits on its own and disrupts viewing, I was supposed to buy a media player but still using the Globe Roku until it runs end this December. 4k playability through the TV is smooth it handled big files 15gb to 30gb without issues, it could not play some MKV and old AVI files though. it sometimes randomly turns on, so I make sure that it is unplugged when leaving the house for a long period of time. tested also with the TV plus antenna, it works and gets channels naman

yup, I don't expect na may upgrade ito ng android version hehe buti na lang naka android 10 na. but yung MiBox ko eh, 4 years na and nasa android 9 pa lang pero never had a problem with the apps. I can sideload apps naman just in case it's not available in google playstore.

I've installed Kodi with The Crew add-on na din. back-up ko sa mga live Sports channels.

Just got reminded recently that of all the flat panel TV's I've bought, the Skyworth seems to be the first one to NOT have a mechanical problem in its first 5 years of existence.  The software is not that good, to be honest -- needs an Android upgrade badly and it won't play USB files -- but the tv itself never conked out and the panel performs the same way since the day I bought it (it's now at my mom's and used as their daily driver).

It's a 55" 4k tv running on android (used money from my Samsung plasma RMA to buy it).

mine after a year nagka vertical line sa may center. buti 2 yrs warranty and panel was replaced for free. pansin ko mas maganda yung new panel, mas brighter and vibrant yung colors, using the same settings as before kasi nde naman na reset settings kahit napalitan panel.
