Though definitely not up to par with the first season, with a little suspension of disbelief (specifically at the usual stupidity of the villains) it can still be mildly entertaining.

‘Reacher’ Casts Anthony Michael Hall and Sonya Cassidy for Season 3

Anthony Michael Hall and Sonya Cassidy have joined the cast of “Reacher” as series regulars for the upcoming third season.

Season 3 of the Alan Ritchson-led action show is based on the seventh book in Lee Child’s bestselling “Jack Reacher” series, titled “Persuader.” In the novel, Reacher goes undercover to rescue an informant held by an enemy from his past.

Hall (“Bosch: Legacy,” “Halloween Kills”) joins the series as Zachary Beck, who is described as “a formidable and successful businessman” as well as “a widow and single father of a 20-year-old son, Richard.” Zachary owns a rug import company that Reacher and his associates believe is covering for a more nefarious operation.

Cassidy has been cast as Susan Duffy, who is “an extremely intelligent and tough DEA agent from Boston with a sharp and sarcastic sense of humor.”

“Reacher” is currently in production in Toronto after the third season renewal was announced in December, two weeks before Season 2 dropped on Prime Video. During its premiere weekend, that season was the No. 1 most-watched title on the Amazon-owned streamer across TV and film.

‘Expats’ Star Brian Tee Among Four Joining Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ For Season 3

Coming off his big Prime Video debut in Lulu Wang’s Expats, Brian Tee (Chicago Med, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) is joining the cast of the streamer’s action series Reacher for Season 3 as a series regular. Production is currently underway in Toronto.

Additionally, Johnny Berchtold and Roberto Montesinos have joined the cast as series regulars with Daniel David Stewart set to recur.

Reacher Season 3 Casts 7-foot Villain Olivier Richters Against Alan Ritchson

Following the revelation of its narrative inspiration, Reacher Season 3 is accelerating its development process by adding cast members left and right, including its villain. The big bad to go against Alan Ritchson’s titular character is locked for Season 3 as Jack Reacher will likely meet his match in Oliver Richters, who could potentially overpower him physically.

Now, Anthony Michael Hall, who will play Zachary Beck in Season 3, has confirmed in an interview with Cinemablend that Oliver Richters, aka “The Dutch Giant” has been cast as the fan-favorite villain, Paulie, from Child’s novel Persuader.

In Season 3, Reacher will take on an undercover op in the lair of Zachary Beck. One of Beck’s bodyguards is Paulie, an unhinged and intimidating bodybuilder.

Accordingly, Oliver Richters could prove to be the perfect casting choice to take on Ritchson’s Reacher. He is 7’2″ and weighs over 300lbs. His previous work includes roles in Black Widow and The King’s Man, among other projects.

‘Reacher’ Spinoff Series in the Works at Amazon

A “Reacher” spinoff series is currently in the works at Amazon Prime Video, Variety has learned from sources.

According to sources, Nick Santora is writing the spinoff with Nicholas Wooton. Santora developed “Reacher” for television and serves as executive producer and showrunner on the series. Exact plot details for the spinoff are being kept under wraps, but it is believed to focus on Frances Neagley, who is played by Maria Sten in the main series.

Reps for Amazon declined to comment.

‘Reacher’ Spinoff Starring Maria Sten Gets Series Order at Prime Video

Prime Video‘s “Reacher” universe is expanding with the series order of a spinoff starring Maria Sten.

“The Untitled Neagley Project,” as the show is referred to in a press release, focuses on Sten’s Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Jack Reacher’s circle. “When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell bent on justice,” the show’s synopsis reads. “Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”

“Reacher” series creator Nick Santora developed the spinoff with “Law & Order” writer Nicholas Wootton, and the two will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.
