Report: The Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a trade sending guard Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks to the Washington Wizards for Rui Hachimura.

The Lakers are sending the 2023 Chicago second-rounder, their own 2029 second-rounder and the Wizards/Lakers less favorable second-rounder in 2028 in the trade.

At this juncture, Rui is a huge upgrade than having Nunn in the roster. He is more consistent than Nunn. What made Rui expendable in Washington was Kyle Kuzma who is rumored to be on his way out as well (opt out next year).

Rookie contract pa si Rui so he is extension eligible.  He needs to show that he is worth the extension though.

They needed big physical wings who can shoot/defend. They already had too many small guards/point guards. This was a step in the right direction hopefully.

The NBA announced today that TNT will air the 2023 NBA All-Star Draft as a new, live pregame segment at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 19 from Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.

For the first time, the NBA All-Star Draft will take place right before the game, giving it the classic pick-up game feel. The two team captains will draft the team rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.

The captains will be the All-Star starter from each conference who receives the most fan votes in his conference. TNT will announce the starters and captains this Friday morning, January 27 (Manila time). As of the third fan vote returns, LBJ and KD were the leading vote-getters.
