Before the NBA Summer League starts, the Lakers and a few other NBA teams like the Spurs, Warriors, Heat, Kings and Hornets, along with China's national team, will participate in the California Classic which kicks off next weekend:

I'm not sure why people are mad at the Lakers for nepotism. Nepotism naman talaga kalakaran sa NBA. Knicks hired Jalen Brunson's dad so they could tamper with him (matagal na sila may history na package deal going back to college). Dallas used to have the son of their coach as the GM for years kahit na palpak. Si Kostas at Thanasis kaya lang may roster spots dahil kay Giannis. Si Damion Lee naglaro sa Dubs kasi brother in law ni Curry. Sa coaching marami rin like Billy Donovan's son coaching the Bulls G-League team. That's not to say that nepotism is good, just that its been going way too long yet it's overstated when it's LeBron.

It's not like the Lakers bent over their backs to accommodate Bronny. They used the 55th pick (out of 58) to select him in quite possibly the weakest draft ever. Ang dami rin prospects in the past na nananakot na wag sila i-draft or magre-refuse ng workout kasi may preferred sila na team. Sarr did it this year, Steve Francis and Kobe did it, and even a nobody like Peter John Ramos did the same.

Caveat: I hate LeBron for a lot of reasons (aabutin tayo buong araw if I list just some of it) but this Bronny stuff is ridiculous and hypocritical.

as a Laker Fan, OK lang yung draft nila si Bronny at 55th/2nd round in order to keep LBJ. LBJ is STILL very productive and is STILL a matchup nightmare at his age. The best case scenario dito is for LAL to send Bronny to the Lakers' G-League affiliate to hone his game. Dont give him a roster spot till he earns it. Sya din mahihirapan kasi he will have a huge target on his back being the son of LBJ. He has to have the goods to show out there on the court. Mapapahiya sya dyan if he cant be at least decent. All eyes are gonna be on him whenever he subs in.

Excited ako sa addition ni Knecht sa team and soon sana si Jonas Valenciunas. Possible din daw na si Dejounte + Capella pero the ask is too high....Rui, AR15 + 1 more player and 3 first rounders.

Get rid of Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Hood Schifino, Christian Wood, D'Lo. Get some high IQ role players that defend well.

Factor din yung mga gimmick signings, and teams do that a lot with their 2nd round selections. Si Mark Cuban mahilig sa ganyan style na kukuha ng banban kasi maganda kwento like with Bernard James (nag-serve sa military) and Satnam Singh (draw attention from India). Laking media mileage yung storyline na "first father and son duo" on the same team. Really, no harm no foul. They didn't waste anything and earned a lot in the process (LeBron returning mostly).
