Platinum Edition Cinderella DVD

Although various release schedules show Cinderella as not being available until 2007, work seems to be well underway on the project. MousePlanet reader Ryan O. found himself staring at five potential DVD covers during a recent online Disney survey. Either Disney works on product covers three years in advance, or the DVD is being released sooner than 2007. Could it be possible that Disney has moved the release date forward by a bit so that the DVD could be released during Disneyland's 18-month 50th anniversary window?

it's a disney platinum.. so expect another 13 months time window in which you can buy it.

after that, it goes back to the damned disney vault. only available there on for disney dvd club members.

hey ymeeh and cherubrock..

no available info as of now.. but nice postings.. nahanap mo. nice work. among all the disney animated films, this is the least i know.. seen this only once when i was a kid but cannot remember anything anymore except for the songs and some of the characters..

so i guess, upon its release, this would be a major event.. regarding the 50th anniversary thing.. not so sure though.. Cinderella was released 1950. mickey mouse just celebrated his 75th anniversary so i guess the info could have been meant for something else.. no idea here.

pre-production for disney covers are in progress 1-2 years from release date and still not final until months prior to release..

OT: i think they are pushing back the little mermaid to prepare for the HD DVD format and would be released as its first offering.. just thinking aloud here.. "don't quote me!!" lol

Meanwhile, Lady and the Tramp has been officially established as March 2006's Platinum Edition, becoming the 7th entry into the studio's most prestigious DVD line.

February 22, 2005 - Video Business reports that when Cinderella makes its DVD debut this October (the movie's first home video release in 10 years), it will be offered in a Collector's Gift Set ($49.99 SRP) in addition to the expected $29.99 SRP 2-disc Platinum Edition. The Gift Set will include a limited edition book, character sketches by animator Ollie Johnston and a numbered film frame.
