Pre-amp/processor? I'm not sure. But the amp, you can use any tube amp available (preferably PushPull type). And use your standard receiver with pre-out connection as your pre-amp/processor.

ex. Marantz 4400 or Yamaha 440 as the pre-amp/processor and two say ST70 for your fronts and surrounds + AMX EL34 for your Front Cntr and Back cntr or a monoblock tube amp.

Medyo magastos lang ito sir.

I think jcob said two (2) ST70 + one (1) AMX EL34 so that's six (6) channels total.  :)

Palagay ko sir maganda yan, kaya lang medyo magastos sa power! I think dapat  identical ang amp para mas maganda lets say AMX-EL34 mono x 6 hehehe! You can Ask Akyat & Hans about their experienced with home theater using 2 channel only how much more if using 6 tapos naka DTS pa?

Highly recommended films to be watched if using tube amps for HT :

Lord Of The Rings - Fellowship of The Ring
                               The Two Towers
Band Of Brothers
Starwars I, II, IV, V, VI
Saving Prvate Ryan
Behind Enemy Lines
Top Gun

(set volume to 11 o'clock)

jcob instead of using a receiver for pre-outs, there are dvd players out there that have pre-outs for each channel para mas tipid kaso one thing bad about it is you'll have separate volume controls.

Yap, that's true. Very inconvenient.

OT. lang I've read from one review, one thing to enhance your 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 HT set-up is to use a Tube amp on your front speaker. The dialog becomes more pronounce and clearer daw. Kahit yung mga scenes na nag bubulungan you can clearly hear. Had anybody tested this. I think the tube amp that was use was a Manley Lab Neo-Classic SE/PP 300B mono amp.

thanks..

Watch out for AMX5.1 with eL84, at 15 watts x5. Coming soon! You will need a DVD player with 5.1 outputs, we will not be building the decoder anymore, just the amplifier sections. I think the 15watts per side (Have tried the 2Ch version on my HT) is more than adequate in driving my 88 dB HT loudspeakers, and the amp does not produce too much heat on class AB. I am considering also the 6V6 and have tried it too, only it is kinda hard to get, unlike EL84s.
You are right, with tube audio you can watch 2 to 3 DVDs in a single sitting without listening fatigue. Your Sub can be any SS powered type.

one thing you have to watch out for when using different amps for the different channels is the timbre. joseph esmilla's implementation is timbre-correct with 2A3/45 amps on the left/right and 45 on the center. you wouldn't want a 2A3 for left/right and 300B for the center! just imagine an F1 car coming from the left, naging BMW 316i pag dating sa center, then F1 uli while exiting on the right channel.
