Not to be the harbinger of bad tidings but there's a reason behind these 'infestations'.
Due to ROHS / Environmental compliance, most DVD manufacturers contracted by these big media outfits (the disc itself) shifted from inorganic based chemicals to organic chemicals to make the polycarbonate discs.
Alas, some of these chemicals emit a scent that is 'attractive' to ants.
I personally have experienced original DVDs being swarmed by ants, and yet they dont even bother the quiapo DVDs beside it.
Same is true for new laptops/gadgets - the ants love the keyboard membrane and soft plastic parts of remotes, camera controls, even the rubber 'feet' of Amps / AVRs / CD-DVD players / Speakers, because the softener for the rubber material is also organic based.
The only solution I know is fight nature with nature - citronella oil (a natural pesticide/repellent) sprayed and let dry on the areas where you store your stuff, or where you have placed your gears.
