the real number 4 seed has arsenal against the suns,
not only elton brand but chris kaman can wreck havoc in the middle, also playoffs veterans cassell and mobley can wear out nash and co.

Suns won 130-123. Do you guys think phoenix has an advantage over the clippers since the suns already have played 3 x in Staple Center in the first round?  ;D

I really think it has more of the Suns continuing its hot shooting especially the last three games in its series with the Lakers, and the Clippers coming cold after a weeks rest.  If the Suns do continue its winning run, wouldn't they be  deadlier with Amare and Kurt Thomas back in its fold next season?

As usual naman, they may be missing in the media's radar blip, but the Spurs along with the Pistons just gets the job done.  No flashy stuff...just hard nose defense and half-court offense big in fundamentals.  Tim Duncan's foot problem is feeling good now and his numbers the past few games are pre-plantar fasciitis levels.

Yeah, i agree with that article.  Just like MJ experienced with his early playoff debacles with the Pistons then, LBJ will be better.  Howd I like switching THE KING for THE BLACK MAMBA to play for the Lakers.  I'm a Laker fan since the days of Magic pa....but to compare both of them is a no brainer.  Defensively, Kobe might have the edge, but maturity on and off court, and the whole game, ill take the King anytime.

Agree. The kid's development has been a joy to watch.
People should stop talking about MJ already though; not fair to both of them.
LeBron plays a type of game we haven't seen yet.

LBJ in the Lakers? Hehe, that would simplify my life as I'd only have one team to root for. That would break the hearts of everyone in Ohio though, and maybe doom Cleveland forever.

LBJ will take the licks and  losses now, and his maturity level will make him learn the tactics of playoff basketball.  I also think Larry Hughes isn't up to the task being the main support guy now, after being out most of the season.  Just like the column said...LBJ is winning by losing now.

NBA basketball has drastically changed this year.  Haven't you noticed?  The way the game is being called today (no handchecks, lots of touch fouls, slight bumps) allows faster and quicker players to have more space, get in the lane, thus opportunities to score more.  Just look at the regular season and you'll see three players averaging 30 points or more (Kobe, Iverson and LBJ, with Arenas nearly reaching 30 ppg ave too).  This also explains why Phoenix can play small ball and have relative success(leads the league in scoring). And why Tony Parker can get in the lane at ease, and lead the league with most FGs in the paint (on 55% FG shooting). And why of the top 10 scorers, only two are forwards, Nowitzki and Carmelo, and they aren't considered inside players but perimeter players.  This is also the reason why slower players, just couldn't keep up and more often than not, are in foul trouble (eg Shaq, also see stats in foul dept, almost all of them are centers/big men trying to protect the lane).   The NBA has done a good job putting more points in the board, thus entertainment far more enticing than the mid 90's when defense/wrestling/bodies flying was the norm (see boring Houston-NY finals 1995).  So, in an interview, Scottie Pippen remarked that MJ could average in the 50's with the way refs are calling the game now.  Maybe next season, the NBA could find some balance.   What dya think guys?

I guess you don't like Detroit that much, hehehe...Rasheed just guaranteed they'll win the series with the Cavs.

As for the Heat, the time for them to win it all is NOW (imho).  Shaq, though still imposing and can still surprise (remember the 30-20 he put up vs Chi?), have only  a year or two,at best, of play with decent numbers.  Payton's way past his "the GLOVE" days.  Mourning too.  The window is closing on them fast.  The best time is now, especially when the older players can still summon their bodies to do something their mind thinks it can do.  Don't get me wrong Heat fans ha, just stating nature of the NBA, where the better teams have a short rebuilding period, while having a nucleus of a team that could compete strong in the long run.  After having a team reaching the eastern finals last year, they dismantled it. They didn't add walker, williams, posey and payton to win in the future....they want to win now.

Ok din sa akin if the Heat advance to the Finals.  I'm rooting for Shaq, since he's an ex-Laker.  :)  But Detroit really seems formidable despite losses in the post-season to Milwaukee and Cleveland, plus they have homecourt advantage.  Tall order for Miami, pero bilog nga ang bola.  :)

We deserve better.
