Katyn

A harrowing WWll true story of the massacre of Polish officers by Stalin's secret police, and of their families who, unaware of the crime, were still waiting for them to return. The dialogue is in Polish/Russian/German, so the English subtitles have to be activated.

Oblivion (2013)-- I love watching movies but I am not a real Sci Fi fan. It seems that this movie had some parts taken from previous movies I've watched (Planet of the Apes, Total Recall) but the delivery and execution is something to note. Video is top notched. The close up of faces makes you want to take a screenshot picture to showcase your display. Audio was quite a treat! The drones were everywhere utilizing all of your surround speakers. Explosions and gunfire worked out the sub. The storyline was ok but the AV experience was a treat.

Snow White and the Huntsman

The late night suggested movie. Always liked Charlize Theron, her performance here is of the expected calibre. Good telling of a un-Disneyfied fairy tale with great audio. This will find its way back to the player again.

I Hate Valentine's Day (2009)

Our late night movie, Nia Vardalos teams up again with John Corbett. Although not as successful or as well received as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", still a good romantic comedy. A little slow at times, has its moments and good laughs. Blu quality not that great.

Shot in 18 days on a shoestring and completed from concept in 3 months. Laudable effort.

Insidious

The first movie I saw with an astral projection theme. Its ample amount of suspense and horror plus the disturbing, malevolent characters thrown in for good measure kept me and my daughter on the edge of our seats while watching it. The sequel, Insidious Chapter 2 will be shown in theaters next month but I will wait for its BD release to watch it.
