The sales person told me that they have PIP but 1 channel is dedicated to the PC. The other channel is either TV or DVD or any other input. It CANNOT be TV and DVD for the PIP.

Is this true??? Why the hell did samsung make the other PIP channel dedicated to a PC? What if you wont use a PC? then no use na yung PIP???

Here is the matrix for the combo of main and sub sources that will work. As you can see, the PIP works best with a PC or HDMI source plus any other video source. You can't combine two ordinary video sources.

You can use a DVD player or external tuner with a VGA output. These are readily available in the local market.

hmmmm. is there a cheap amplifier that has a VGA output and also accepts a TV tuner input? or better yet has a TV tuner integrated with it? this way, the other PIP channel can come from the amplifier and in doing so, all the inputs of the amplifier can be played in the PIP (DVD/TV/playstation/xbox/etc) while the other PIP will handle TV.

I don't quite get this. Even if you find one it might be too expensive. Anyway, you need another tuner for PIP source anyway since the Samsung LCDTV has only one tuner. What you really need is something like this:

There are cheaper ones at TipidPC and there is a better one sold at PCExpress.

Just plug the VGA output to your LCDTV and the audio to the LCDTV or home theater system.

this made me wonder, if i get a tv tuner box as indicated, would this enhance the TV signals in such a way that i would make them clearer than the tv tuner incorporated in the TV itself?

you can use the TV PIP function of your samsung LCD TV only in VGA and HDMI mode if im not mistaken.

saw tv tuner from cdr king 2k+ dont know if its good

anyway if you put it through samsung LCD vga input can you swap the picture from samsung tuner and from vga tuner? kasi when I tried my pc you cannot swap the sub TV picture or even changes the size of the pip only location of the pip

problem with this one is that you still need to use 2 remotes! apart from the cost. plus...component video and HDMI cannot be pip'd. so that scraps my xbox and dvd player (hdmi) out of the pip list.

the best i can do is have tv on pip while its on commercial break while i go back to my paused xbox game.

switching is a pain as well...the whole screen refreshes. better pa with an old wega that we have. and this is with the R81...a newer model.

so i just dont bother with it anymore.

Youre right. Well, we just cant get all our wants in one  TV model, like cellphones.

I used to have  a dual tuner PIP from my philips pixel plus and use it to monitor surveilance camera while watching TV shows.

too bad. pip is best with 2 tv shows where you can go to another channel when theres a timeout called in sports or for commercial breaks.

really no sense in doing pip with tv and a dvd.
