I didn't pay for the extended warranty since it didn't cover bulb replacement. Maybe somebody else can answer your question. Anyone?

In my case they dont want to give extended warranty. I dont know why?

I think its 12-15T for the DLP bulb.

Price range of Lamp in the internet 179 to 270 dollars the cheapest was samsungpart.com.

Sir firewired, I ask Samsung Representative in SM city Iloilo, he said extended warranty ncluded daw yung Lamp...He also told me that SM City dont Carry Obsolete unit which is the L6...Obsolete nga ba?

neway share ko lng ito, manual said you must give space at the back of the unit for ventilation purposes so that it wont damage the unit, sa I tried putting small fan at the back of the unit.
TV off + Fan off = 26 degree C
TV on + Fan off = 46 degree C
TV on + Fan ON = 29 degree C
my question does this make any difference? will it extend the Life of my Lamp?

Would anyone know if Samsung is willing to accept the earlier DLP's (mine is the 50 inches plus) and upgrade it to the newer 67 inches DLP model (also from Samsung) ?

Is this or a similar model (same size) still available in the market?

I inquired but they say some dealers only have display models left.  I gues this would now depend on how much or how long these units have been in use.

Also, can someone direct the exact steps on how to check the hours used (ie. from the System Menu?) so I can validate how long these units have been in use.  Any other ideas too with what to check for before deciding on getting them?

Thanks.

It looks like the current generation of bulb / lamp based DLP models from Samsung are being phased out. The last time I checked with Samsung they are now just selling the 67" DLP model and is now more pushing the LCD side.

However, checking with US Samsung sites, it seems that the new LED based DLP models are now out in the market there and should shortly hit our shores pretty soon...

PS. Samsung customer care folks are very attentive to their customer needs. My DLP model faded out of service (in retrospect, I strongly recommend that you get the extended warranty cover, the analog and digital boards are way too expensive if they break down on you)...
