Hi.  Anyone who purchased a new Asian PS3 Slim lately?  Can you confirm if it can play Region B Blu-ray movies?

I have the asian ps3 last bought on August. I don't have a region b bluray but i tried to play a region b dvd and it did not play.

My Fat PS3 has been choosy in playing bds both movies and games lately. Some will play and some will not.  Is this a sign for a lens replacement?  :-\

This is what I fear.  I thought the model that I have is the sturdier one.  Now am contemplating on having the lens replaced or just add a little for a new one.   :-[

Tekken ba or Ridge Racer?  ;D Tekken ok pa.  Ridge Racer di ko pa na-try.  Batman BD and Simpsons game palang so far ang sumasablay.  Need to test more.

I think I'll take option B.   :D I inquired at a shop in Greenhills last year and they are giving my PS3 P7k as trade in value.  Maybe I'll just add a little nalang for a new one.

Can somebody help me?

Nagkatopak bigla PS3 ko kasi I use it to watch BDs too. After kong sinalang yung Hunger Games BD sabi I need to update the system daw kaso di ako marunong. Then when I tried to play other BDs ayaw na rin magplay, pero before nakakapagplay naman. It just kept saying "This video cannot be played. (8002997F)" :(

Oh thank you! But I don't know how to do it. I can't connect sa WiFi. Or di lang talaga ako marunong. Haha

^ are you running on official firmware or custom?

if it's official, just download the latest firmware from playstation.com using your PC. you would find detailed instructions there.

essentially you'll download the update file, put it in a USB flash drive, then perform System Update via USB (all accessible via XMB, no special skills needed.)

good day.

please allow me to revive this thread...

2012 ps3 320g - locally purchased...updated to 4.66 version

- ps3 is now region free, right?  meaning it can play all types of blu ray movie disc?
- does it make an 'ejecting' sound when reading a disc?
- for external HDD, it will only read if FAT32 formatted, otherwise di niya babasahin?

any comments, feedback will be highly appreciated.

thanks
