if ifts not multiregion, i pressume it can only play R3 DVDs but don't worry i'm sure u can find a lot of resources to have it opened (so to speak) to play different regions... as for the p**** DVDs, its probably copied from say, R1 or R2 DVD but then again, most of the p**** are region free... used a samsung DVDP before and had no problem playing p**** and other region DVDs...

There's a thread before sa buy and sell section about a samsung HTIB and someone posted on how to set the player to multiregion... look for the thread about samsung DVDs for sale...

hope this helps..

You can ask the dealer who sold you the unit.  They should be able to open the region for free.

Hi! I have this one as well, it came with my samsung WS-Z40HN and its been working fine and has good sound quality for its size and price.

I think mine is region free 'coz i've even tried an R1 dvd on it and tried dvd-9 discs.
There are some Pdvds and divx that dont work but there's a firmware upgrade on their website.  Just download, burn and flash the upgrade.
Note that this will reset the settings of your player so take note of the things that you customized.

This firmware upgrade made some videos playable (esp. avi) but not all, but compared to my pioneer 585 this is more Pdvd friendly.
