schlamm's HT rig...

full-view, w/o the sub. hindi na kasya

left channel

right channel;

the amps, entry-level onkyo receiver for everyday use and my Cayin A-50T tube amp

Cambridge Azure Stereo RCA from my soundcard to my tube amp and optical cable to my receiver

the source, Onkyo SE-200 soundcard

My tube amp drives my B&W DM602S3 while my receiver drives my Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 and supplies the signal for my Velodyne CHT-10R. My source is my PC, the tall tower on the right of my TV rack. The materials that I use to listen to are FLAC files, I archive my CDs into my PC to keep them prestine

, and thousands of MP3s which I don't listen to much because we all know they don't sound so well with these kind of setups. Interconnects are provided by Profigold full-plated gold banana plugs. Nobelle speaker wires for my B&W and Marshall speaker wires for my Wharfes.

I still don't know if my speakers will sound better if I get proper speaker wires. Additionally, I think I need a customized cable for my sub since the cable I got is a bit flimsy or cheap.

Thanks bro! Media Center is really my goal. Hassle kasi mag-palit ng CD kaya PC ko na lang ginawa kong source. Pero sabi nila maganda rin raw may sariling cdp and vynil player. Sisimulan ko mapag-aralan mga ito para idagdag sa rig ko in the future.

I'm interested sa PC mo for media center. It looks like a home theater server talaga.

Hindi na

May nakita nga akong CD case na controlled environment yung loob niya. Nakaka-temp

pero siguro pag malaki na collection ko. Newbie pa lang ako sa pag-cocollect ng CD pero marami na rin akong FLAC galing sa net kaya ok talaga mangolekta both soft and hard CDs.

@milken: Yep, malaki difference niya from my motherboard's soundcard and with my Creative Audigy 2ZS. Creative kasi tends to modify the music with there CMSS and other trinkets kaya naiiba yung dating ng music compared to the original. Gusto ko nga sana makapag audition talaga ng magandang CDP para macompare ko kung may difference sa setup ko ngayon or someone who could audition my setup para icompare.

Nakapag-audition naman ako ng CDP + Tube combo bago ko nabili tube amp ko pero iba pa rin yung tunog sa ngayon kasi hindi pa burned-in tube amp ko compared naman dun sa inaudition ko sa store. Dinala ko pala speakers ko doon sa shop para marinig ko kung paano tutunog tong B&W ko sa tubes nila.

Actually ganyan din dilemna ko. gusto ko bumili ng dedicated cd player kaso mas versatile yung media pc kasi mas marami kang mapatugtog sa pc compared to cdp --limited to one cd. besides ok ang flac -- lossless din tulad ng audio cd. i've compared my old pioneer CD-LD player with my onboard sound card. using same cd, mas maganda ang tunog ng player (wider and livelier soundstage). yung soundcard ng asus motherboard ko mas mahina ang sound output kaya nag-iisip akong mag-upgrade ng sound card. Have you considered Auzentech Xi-Fi Prelude 7.1? Pwede pa pm saan at magkano kuha nyo sa onkyo soundcard?

Yeah, mas mahina nga signal ng on-board sound ng motherboard compared to a dedicated soundcard. As for Auzentech, hindi ko natry itong soundcard na ito pero based on sa mga nabasa ko dati, parang more on to gaming siya. Yung Creative Audigy2ZS kasi ko dati ok naman yung tunog kaso manipis yung tunog ng mid-frequencies compared sa gamit ko ngayon. Parang mas preferred ng mga Creative or gaming soundcards ang low and high frequencies since yun ang hanap ng mga gamers, oomph and clarity, nawala yung warmth ng sound.

Inaayos ko pa room ko pinawasak ko lahat eh total renovation hehehe... medyo excited na nga ako sa magiging outcome eh. Masaya na ako sa whardale balak ko kumpletuhin yung 5.1 setup sa room ko. Sa living room naman balak ko din i convert yung audio system dun na dynaudio floorstanders. Hindi ko lang alam kung ano pwede mag power dun kasi sabi ni sir vic medyo mahirap daw i power yun malakas daw. Nakakabit yun sa adcom na power amplifier kaya lang stereo lang yung receiver nya na luma na di pihit mode pa hehehe...

Update kita sa room set-up ko target namin matapos in 2 weeks time eh pati yung bahay namin. Dalaw na lang ako dyan sunday lagi kong nakakalimutan eh wala bang ibang araw na pwede? masyado ka kasing busy eh.
