hi anya. i got mine from avshop here sa forums together with a 42" plasma.

great guy and ok naman yung items. no problems.

only downside was he didn't know anyone who does the region free thing...

=(

would appreciate the help if anyone knows a technician from any reseller or Panasonic.

Hi guys,

Just bought a Pana PV8 and SCPT-465 last saturday from SnS, And so far im very happy
with my new toys

I just have a question though and need your help guys regarding my SCPT-465
i've read in the manual that it only accepts R2 DVD's, is there a way that i can make
it region free? do you have any suggestions? Please help.

compatible naman sir..I am not sure ano connection ng xbox since I do not own one..but if it uses optical to pass digital audio signal then you cannot enjoy the benefit of surround sound since hindi po nag ddecode via optical ung HTIB na to..IMHO lng po

i have this, gave it to my kid bro kase hindi na kasya un tallboy sa lilipatan namin house, hmmm

how do you set the reso to 1080p? ive tried and ive tried and i've only been able to set it to 480p w/c kinda sucks kase sayang naman un upscaling capabilities niya, hehehe

any answers would be greatly appreciated =)

oh, and good thing about this is that you can just set the audio to output through the hdmi port, so you can use it as a dvd upscaler lang din if you already have an existing audio setup

I'm having problems playing movies DTS sound format sa panasonic sc-pt456 htib ko? Pag AC3 format may sound naman..

Maybe I just missed something in the setup of the htib or pch kaya? Right now I'm stuck and don't know what to do.. please help me troubleshoot this thing.. TIA

i switched receivers with my kid bro, naiilang kase ako kase un old bravia ko un kinabitan namin ng panny ht465, tapos un pv8 ko naka sony dv170k - ayun, medyo panasony combination namin

i read the speakers and they were similar lang, there's just a bit of difference sa sub, pero the fronts, center, and rear speakers are exaclty alike (from how i understand it)
so it was a long experiment, and we had to cut the reconnect the woofers cable kase the 465 had it built in (hindi dettachable)

so far so good, now its a sony = sony and panny = panny combination, though the speakers are still the same (sony = panny / panny = sony) we need to maintain it that way kase our new rooms in our new house are specifically built for the speakers that we have na..

would anyone like to comment on this? is this kind of setup ok? or do you think im doing the speakers more harm by switching them or using them with different branded receivers?

Nakakainis. Diba this HTIB decodes DTS din through the optical connection?

Bro, the Panny 465 htib doesn't have DTS decoding capability. For me, ung media player ko ang nag-dedecode ng dts. Among the media players available here at the moment, only the PCH has that capability. The Egreat wala pa unfortunately, but they're getting close na yata.

Noob question:

Yun htib ko, may nakalagay na DTS. Same panny 465. Di ba that means it has a decoder for dts? I can play pi*** dvd with dts... Or hindi talaga dts yun sa mga pi*** copy?

If you bought your pv80 bnew, i'm sure your dealer can give you a good deal on the hitb package.

Wala na po kasing Panasonic HTIB sa Sns nung bumili kami ng PV80 so we settled for a Samsung HTIB. Mas gusto ko po sana Panasonic din para one remote lang gamit.

its actually a pitty that this doesnt decode dts via optical, yung samsung na cheapest z210 or 220 it plays dts ng egreat na hindi naka downmix.

Just bought a converter that converts the sub speaker out back to RCA pre-amp. Wala kasing RCA sub-out yun htib. Tapped the speaker sub out ng htib sa converter. Then yun RCA pre-amp ng converter, connected to an external amp. Then from external amp, to woofers ng A-audio FS (bi-amp ready) ko. Ok naman. Nagbago mundo ko from stock "sub" ng panny htib to 2 *" amplified woofers. Di ko kasi nagustuhan yun quality ng sub ng htib natin.
