Had my mine installed yesterday morning. After the installatiom they told me it would be activated within the day. Called them last night and they told me within 24hrs. Called them now bec it hase been 24hrs now they tell me 48hrs. Siguro bukas sasabhen 72hrs ang activation period. Not a good start.

^^We had the same rough start kojie.  Experienced two (2) different issues in a span of three (3) weeks.  I hope you get better luck than me.

Sana lang ma-improve nila, kasi they have a 'monopoly' to those customers who aren't reached by SkyCable & Destiny.  Cignal is the top choice (I don't consider GSAT & Dream as their competitors, as Cignal is way ahead) for us, so they have to improve their operations before they establish a bad rep very early in their campaign. :(

it takes a mouse click to activate a receiver. a few seconds for the signal to reach the customer.

Then it's a mystery why it's taking them so long (48 hours) to activate.
Mine was activated in minutes after the installer made a phone call.  The trouble came after the installer left, LOL!

actually yung installer dapat tinatawag na for activation yung receiver habang nandun siya bago umalis para kumpleto ang serbisyo (job order)

Activation

Once your system is operational, the installer will call your program provider and have the unit(s) authorized. The installer will provide the program provider with the serial numbers and access card numbers of your equipment. Either you or the installer will tell the customer account representative (C.A.R) your desired programming package. At some point you will need to speak to the C.A.R yourself to verify your address and programing selection. In most cases, both DirecTV and Dish Network require you to provide your social security number in order to immediately activate your programming. Other options to avoid providing your social security number include providing a credit card number or sending money to the programming provider before your system can be activated.

If your installer tries to show you how to use the system and then calls to authorize, with the intention of leaving while you are on the phone, do not let them leave.

The installer is required to verify that all receivers have been properly activated and work properly. Only after the installer has verified all receivers are working should they proceed to showing you how to operate the system.

^^ That is why I chose to purchase my Cignal prepaid kit via Dish Enterprises because they guaranteed that the installer will never leave you until you can watch.

Info for your understanding, cignaltv activation is not like directv or dish or any local DTH.

Postpaid activation is 3-5 days, best case is 1 day after cignal activation team received all your submitted docs and forms, that would be a day after the installation since docs will be forwarded by dealer installer to cignal activation. It is the fault of dealer installer of not informing you on the process of activation.

Prepaid activation is done by TP or distributor, that is why it is faster. It takes encoding subscriber details, stb,sc,lnb and other stuff and voila. It will be activated in just 15min.

Dont get me wrong lonewolf, some un authorized dealers installers uses old "pre activated" boxes. That is the reason why they say it works even before they left, that is because it is already active and without load. What the installer does is load the amount on the said account to get it working again. To make sure you have a bnew fresh unit, your unit should be in your name and address. Worst case of this pre activated units is out of warranty units that cignal does not honor but being honored by the installer from their stock,thatis in house warranty.

first 5 months i had credit due to my downpayment, so i didn't pay anything. come last month, umabot ang bill ko ng 5k++ kasi sabay-sabay ang charge for the past 5 months subscription fee. :(

No worries bro pentium4. We got Prepaid, and now that you explained it, I understand why it's faster to activate, and he probably applied for Postpaid.

If I saw this thread much earlier, I definitely would have ordered directly from Cignal.

unless you watch a TV for the watermark only.

Seriously, I dont think there is a law that prohibits such.

It is a safety measure for a company that invests much on the rights and satellite feed.
If they remove that and cable operators will just re-transmit the feed, how can you make transmission legal?

This card is not authorized (6) on all channels except ch78 means your account has been disconnected.
If you are on prepaid, it means you need to reload.

If this happens prior 30days of our supposed 30 day FREE load,  that means your unit indeed is a pre activated unit and you may check that with cignal hotline 02 2446251. prepare the following STB# and Smart Card #. If you dont know your cignal acct# you may inquire thru text.

send text msg CIGNAL SC SMARTCARD# INCLUDING ALL 0000 and send to 5353
