hmm, (sir streetsmart is correct) i think i've read somewhere someone using acoustical panels like that and they found that the panels would vibrate with the bass.
at the very least, maglalagay ako ng some sort of sapin sa T-runners para pag gumalaw (definite IMO) hindi maingay.
Hi mike no worries I've already installed ceiling like these on countless studios, recording rooms, music rooms etc
as long as the runners are properly spaced and supported there shouldn't be a vibration problem
Although I'm aware of that vibration issue, it usually happens when the side supports are not setup correctly or there are gaps in between each runner
I made sure mine are really snugged fit also added rubber sealants for added support and old fabrics on some locations where the reflections are strongest
My only prob left is vibrations on the louver windows. Can't really do much with that because it's old. Hopefully I can replace that with a single windows instead but that would be far in the future. Hopefully, for the time being the supports I placed on the aluminum and the curtain would minimize that.
Oh yea I've already tried blasting 14 inch subs
no issues
Oh yea not sure though it might be also dependent upon the type of paneling used. I had a choice between a clean type/line type and the usual dotted one. I found the clean and line type to be very reflective (Although it's a shame because they look much better). Also I'm not so sure if quality has something to do with it. I compared the panels I'm using to the generic ones you can buy at home depot stores, mine seems to be a whole lot denser and heavier.
This might be an interesting experiment. Will probably try to compare these one day and will post my findings
